Remote neural weapons can read and write the human mind, and they are being used on civilians who never consented. Governments already compensate their own personnel for brain injuries no one will explain. Almost nowhere does the law protect what happens inside your head.
The brain is one electrical organ. A system that can reach one part of it can reach the rest. Driven by advanced AI, two-way and instantaneous, it works on every channel of a person at once.
It reads thoughts as they form and predicts the next ones.
It inserts thoughts and drives the mind down chosen trains of thought.
It places generated images seamlessly into what a person sees.
It stimulates the auditory cortex directly, with no sound in the room.
It overrides motor control and moves muscles against the person's will.
It pulls up memories the person would never have recalled on their own.
